Hospital Stay

The test results came back Tuesday afternoon.  She tested positive for MRSA in her blood, joint fluid, and bone.  They needed to get her on antibiotics.  The  infection tested sensitive for clindomycine. She was on a IV  antibiotic until Saturday morning.  The  infectious team determined an oral would work good, if she would take the meds.  It is very very gross  smelling and the taste is nasty.  Most  kids won't take it.  If she didn't, they would put a pic line in.  Whitters had no problems taking the meds.  We are so happy and blessed that Whitney doesn't have to have a pic line.  She is on antibiotics for about  6 weeks and every 8 hours.  Right now her schedule is 6:30 am 2:30 pm and 10:30 pm.

My mom had Brayden and Haddie for the week.  Brayden and Haddie both got strep while they were there.  I missed my kids.  I felt so helpless.  I couldn't do anything for Whit and I couldn't help Brayden or Haddie.   Thankfully my mom was great with them.  `

Whit was put in an immobilizer brace so she couldn't bend her knee.  We had to be creative how to entertain.  She loved being in the corner next to the window.. It became her own little space.

The hospital has "Kids Krew"  they brought different activities.  Paints where Whitters favorites.
On Friday, they had Physical Therapy come to help Whit walk around.  She was so excited to get out.  We had to make her stop because she just wanted to walk up and down the stairs.
Don't look at the last picture if you have a weak stomach.  This is just for my knowledge.
